Let us take you through what went down at the just concluded Progressive Obas Forum of Egba land (Ogun Central) official inauguration where almost 140 Egba Royal fathers and their Paramount ruler Oba Dr Adedotun Gbadebo Okukenu IV, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egba land spoke in one voice to support good governance beyond 2019 using Gov Ibikunle Amosun CON FCA as a good example that can be emulated for rapid development which standard must be continued in Ogun state.
The event was held at Providence Event Centre May 9 2018, it was graciously attended by the amiable wife of Ogun state governor Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Amosun, the Alake of Egba land accompanied by Egba high Chief Sikiru Atobatele Balogun of Egba land, the Speaker Ogun State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Suraj Adekumbi Ishola, Hon. Commissioner for Local Govt and chieftaincy commission Chief Jide Ojuko and other dignitaries.
The corporate Royal event had Professor Olatunji Odedeji Dean College Post Graduates Studies OOU Ago-Iwoye as the guest lecturer on the theme “LARGER SCALE OF VISION AND DREAM AS A LEGACY BEYOND 2019 TILL 2050”
According to the chairman of progressive Obas forum HRH Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo who addressed the august gathering, in his speech he said “the role of Royal fathers in democracy is beyond an individual and political entities”, he further maintained that Royal fathers are Coordinators of general community development having capability to advocate, mediate and ensure peace as an opinion leader in their various communities.
Grand patron, Matron and Patrons of the prestigious Progressive Obas Forum were also decorated at the occasion, among were Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Amosun who was decorated with as the Grand Matron of the Forum; The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt (Hon) Suraj Isola Adekunbi (Patron) the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo as Grand Patron, Chief Jide Ojuko (Patron) Chief Wale Adesina The Babalaje of Yewa Land and Tayese of Itori Egba Land (Patron), Chief Animasaun (77) and other important dignitaries we’re also decorated.
