Oldest man in Ogun dies at 135

Late Chief Emmanuel Alao Asipa.....died at Age 135

‎A community leader and the Jagunde of Iwoye-Ketu of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State, Chief Emmanuel Alao Asipa, has died at the age of 135.

The late Asipa is the father of a former chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Albert Asipa.

Baba is believed to be the oldest man in Ogun State.

Before his death, the late Asipa was a custodian of history‎ and human library of sort as he usually reminisced on how he witnessed the First World War and other age-long events.‎

One of his children, who is the former Chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Albert Asipa, said: “Baba was often called ‘Baba Asipa’ and was full of energy and could walk unassisted up till the time he died.”‎

‎According to him, the deceased was a fulfilled father whom God blessed with good health, children, grandchildren and great grand children‎.

PublicFaces Magazine can report that the community leader was on Thursday buried amidst accolades in Iwoye, a border town between Ogun State and neighbouring Republic of Benin.
