Gillette’s New Advert Causes Uproar

A new gillette advert dropped yesterday. This advert caused an uproar on social media due to its content. Gillette is a brand of men’s and women’s safety razors and other personal care products. The ad’s focus was to discourage toxic masculinity and its tenets such as bullying, sexual harassment and male entitlement. The message being that men should be responsible for themselves and not hide under the traditional idea that “boys will be boys”. This has caused an uprising among men’s rights activists. They claim that the advert is an assault on traditional masculinity and declares war on it.

Piers Morgan, one of the anchors on the ITV Breakfast programme ‘Good Morning Britain’ is planning to boycott Gillette in protest against the advert. The ad stated at the end “It’s only by challenging ourselves to do more, that we can get closer to our best.” The official website for this Gillette advert is thebestmencanbe.org
